Seven years have passed since the tournament in which Gohan defeated Cell. Goku remains in the Next World, rather than risk attracting more evil beings to Earth, but he cheerfully trains under the watchful eye of King Kai (and the other Kais). After years of studying under his mother's tutelage, Gohan enters high school. Although he's awkward around his fellow students, he uses his incredible powers to fight crime in the nearby city as "Great Saiyaman." His feats of daring-do bring him into conflict with martial arts champion, crime fighter, and classmate Videl, the daughter of the obnoxious Mr. Satan. Their rivalry quickly turns into a maladroit mutual attraction. When a new tournament is announced, Gohan begins training himself and his seven-year-old brother Goten. Most of the season is devoted to the preparations for the tournament and its first rounds: Goku returns to Earth for one day to participate; Vegeta, Piccolo, Krillin, Android 18, Gohan, Videl, Goten, and Trunks all enter, with Mr. Satan ranked as the defending champion. Most of the story is silly, even by the undemanding standards of Dragon Ball Z, and fans generally regard this season as an interlude between the "Cell" and "Majin Buu" sagas. The latter begins in the final episodes, as two over-muscled thugs in the service of the evil wizard Babidi steal energy from Gohan's Super-Saiyan form. They hope to release the horrible monster Buu, the creation of Babidi's father Bibidi. Ranked against them are the Z Fighters, the Supreme Kai and his attendant Kibit. 5 out of 5 stars It's DBZ   August 25, 2010

The Marathon Feature almost eliminates the old argument of DBZ dragging on too long with nothing happening by eliminating the OP/ED and recaps. Scenes and dialogue are uncut with original Japanese audio. As with all anime purists, I cannot recommend the English audio in any scenario.

5 out of 5 stars Sneak Peak (NO SPOILER!!!)   January 1, 2010
Son Of The King

Awesome, awesome season!
This is the season where it is the beginning of the Best of DBZ!! I mean all the other DBZ were outstanding! How can it get better? Haha, I don't know how they did it, but it does get better!!!!

I don't want to spoil anything as I did with season 8 & 9 its just that I couldn't hold it in with season 8 & 9! lol.
But, here is a sneak peak of season 7.
In this season there are some new characters!
One character is so great that they even scare piccolo!!
Someone gets Hercule very frustrated!!
Someone falls in love!
Two great warriors team up! (Haha, you will never guess...because they are new characters....well one is)
Someone gives Goku a hard time!
Well, if you want me to continue, I'll say some spoilers, so get this, so awesome!!

-The thing I love the MOST about DB/Z/GT is that it is like a Christian show!!
Goku is the one who always leads everyone the correct way, He is the savior of the world! (Symbolic to God leading us the right way & being our Savior!)

Goku trains & helps his friends to become good fighters (Symbolic to God "training" us in His Word)

Goku trusts in his friends knowing they will do the right thing. (Symbolic to God trusting that His true followers will obey Him & go His way)

Goku always shows love & mercy even to his enemies & evil people. (Symbolic to God showing all us people, whom have broken His Perfect Law -The Ten Commandments- and yet He still gives us Mercy to flee from sin & follow Him)

Goku believes anyone can change their life from bad, to good. (Symbolic to fleeing from our sins & following the Will of God)

Goku was like a father, always protecting people from evil (Symbolic to how God protects us from evil & when the storms comes, He's still with us)

Everytime it seems hopeless & like evil will prevail & there is no way out, Goku is always there to help! (Symbolic to no matter how strong the temptation or urge is, God always provides a way out for us because He is with us)

When the Saiyans or other fighters feel like there is no hope, they go into a new level of strength (Symbolic to when you are weakest you are strongest)

Like with us when we feel we can't resist the temptation or do the Will of God, we still press on and reach a new level or strength.....haha, like a Spiritual Super Saiyan, being much stronger into & with God then we were before.

When the fighters are fighting & they feel there is no hope, someone else usually comes to the aid (Symbolic to God will never leave us & He always provides help)

DBZ is not only a great show but I look at it through a Christian sense, look at it as a Christian sense, it's symbolic, it'll make it 10x better! I know it did for me!

3 out of 5 stars Peace can be so boring! (Pt. 7 of 9)   November 19, 2009
Underground Reborn (ny)

So DBZ is back and we flash forward in time seven years. Gohan is fully grown and off to high school handling problems a little different from fighting. There are two new additions to the DBZ gang in the hilarious tag team of Trunks and Goten and now that Cell is gone Mr. Satan hogs all the glory of being the greatest hero and saving the world.

This point of the DBZ series has possitives and negatives. The parts I like are the expansion of the Otherworld universe showing us that King Kai is not the only omnipitant being in the world beyond. In fact there are more powerful Kais that have even bigger roles to play in this story. Explaning the world of Dragon Ball Z outside of fighting is great to see because this show has a lot more to offer than just amazing fights. This season brings back the old comedic charm of Dragon Ball. The only negative I see is just the story once again grinds to a hault and it just moves so slow. So what do you do you bring back the World Martial Arts Tournament. Unfortunatly when the fighting is only for fun it just makes you crave another villian. Still, the interesting part is there is a villian among the heroes the question is who could it be?
